![]() To be clear, Victor Vran is not as great as any of those games, but it’s not bad, either. Victor Vran’s combat requires more involvement than click-click-clicking through Torchlight, and its sense of whimsy separates it from the (sometimes) self-serious Diablo. But I think it’s more accurate to imagine it as Bastion strutting around in a campy Van Helsing cosplay. It is like those games in some ways: there are levels to grind through and loot to find and weapon skills to chain together. Like any ARPG, Victor Vran keeps getting compared to Diablo and Torchlight. He explodes so violently that the skeleton next to him explodes, setting off the next one, until the entire group has been reduced to a pile of calcium after one hit. I equip the monstrous two-handed warhammer and take aim at a nearby skeleton, the first of an advancing horde. I'm still on the fence about this, too.ītw, does anyone know whether Steam usually does "encores" during their sales, like GOG does, or is any offer running out the last chance to get that game for the current discount? E.g.Just in time, I open a treasure chest and find the preposterously named Zealous Executioner’s Hammer of Luck. Thanks for sharing your first impressions. I don't regret the purchase so far, I think it's a game I will likely enjoy playing through. The music is pretty rad, if you like that Tan Dun Chinese-inspired kind of stuff. It kind of reminds me of a linear Jade Empire, but more polished and much better combat feel. It's harder than I thought it would be, and I've had to redo a couple sections already since my initial rush-in brawl without consequence mindset wasn't working. The voice acting and the cutscenes are pretty poorly done in my opinion, but the actual gameplay is pretty good so far. The.kuribo: 2) I ended up buying The Legend of Korra and tried it out for about an hour or so. +500 HP, Everytime you do "overkill damage" you cause an explosion. They add passive stats to your character. You have consumables like Health Potions and Bombs, at every level up you get 2 items, it could be a destiny card and a weapon choice.ĭestiny cards are items that you can equip, the amount of cards you can equip at one time depends on your level. They also carry other stats like elemental damage and stats like increased Luck at finding items.Īs you kill enemies you generate overdrive, when this bar is full you can unleash a special skill, eg. ![]() Victor Vran is more diablo-like but is also a little more steampunk insofar as you have the following weapons, Shotgun, Sword, Hammer (awesomesauce) and Scythe, they each have their own special skills, you can equip any two at a time and alternate between them. ![]() I have never played Co-Op, so I cannot comment on that. The first and second games are very (VERY) cheap and are almost constantly cropping op on sale on Steam, so that would be a very easy way to form your own opinion, because the games are quite popular and your sidekick in the game is well written. I dislike the game play that has emerged too, basically you get great powers but to balance this, the game just sends waves of mobs at you and it (imo) gets really boring after awhile, also, I dislike "tower defence" and that has also been incorporated. It hasn't yet incorporated itself into the trilogy, the level cap isn't high enough to sustain the skill trees plus other smaller bugs. The final game though, while it is a full release, it is very unfinished. I stopped because it was to become a trilogy, so I decided to wait until all games were released. Well, I have all the VH games, but I have only played the first one a bit. ![]() I'd never even heard of Vran until I saw it in the sale yesterday, but It's definately now on my radar. I've been meaning to pick up the Helsing games for yonks, but I have no one to play them with me. More information if you would be so kind?
